Church Party in The Havana Room

 

Hey Gals-

Our party was a great success!  Everyone kept commenting on how nice the space was and how good the food was (particularly the sliders).  We’ve had parties at a couple other bars in NYC and the difference with the Havana Room was that we had our OWN open space, flexibility (no problem bringing in a Karaoke machine or huge posters people were writing on), and the staff was super helpful and nice.  Plus, you made planning the party easy by offering food suggestions, allowing us to have a cash bar, and answering all our questions. 

The only downside was that at times it felt a little cramped–I think we ended up having about 150 people and the site says it can accommodate 200–but that was probably because we had a buffet set up, so that took up room, and the karaoke machine and speakers also took up a lot of room. So that was mainly our fault because we didn’t think about how that would affect space and I don’t even think we told you we were bringing karaoke. And it really wasn’t a big deal because people are used to that in NY. 

Also, you let us give our leftover food to a homeless member of the church and that was an unexpected but appreciated bonus. As a church, it’s hard to find places that will be considerate of our needs, which are probably different than a lot of other clients.

We would definitely work with you guys for another event in the future. Thank you so much!!!

My party was a definite success; thanks for asking!   This is the second time I have gone through Eat, Drink, and Be Merry for a charity event and I am happy to admit that it will not be the last!   The four of you are always so nice when I call with questions about the contract and any of you can easily pick up where another one may have left off which proves to me how organized you all are…you also don’t get annoyed when I call three times a day! =)  You were able to work with me until I found the perfect drink special, starting time, event duration, food options, etc. and I truly appreciate your flexibility.   Not only did you make things extremely easy, but the minute after we signed the contract I was confident that I didn’t have to worry about a thing leading up to the event.  I knew you had it all under control and I would be taken care of and taking that stress away is so important in any event planning process.   Thanks so much and look for my phone call in January 2010 for my annual beer pong event at the Gin Mill!

Thank you so much for helping with our event last week. All of the alumni LOVED the space! It was perfect for our game party. The room felt full, yet not over crowded. Your staff were also incredible helpful! We look forward to doing another event at the Gin Mill in the future.
